Well, another year has come to an end and it’s time to reflect on this past year and then move on into 2014! This past year had many ups and downs, but mostly ups thankfully. For 2013 my New Years revolution was to be able to walk and get back in school to my normal life. This time last year I was fresh off of double hip replacements and couldn’t walk and was even told by my doctor I might not get back to normal, I may need the assistance of crutches or walker for the rest of my life because of how bad my hip joints were when they went in for surgery. Well now here we are the end of 2013 and my doctor calls me his “miracle hip child.” I have walked all over the place! Even ran some (not much) I have a job where I walk all over the place and don’t sit much and my legs handle it just fine for the most part!
I also got married this year which was the highlight of my entire year. I married the woman of my dreams, she’s gorgeous, loving and can handle all of my sickness better than anyone I know. We had a beautiful wedding and our new life together has been amazing so far and I cannot wait to see what 2014 has in store for our relationship.
I have also been more involved with my IBD health activist community this last year. I was invited to speak at a conference in New York on IBD, I have done special blog posts for people and now I am judging the WeGo health health activist awards! It’s been a good year for the LifeTakesGuts community. My page has over 9,000 members now which is hard to even fathom, and we are growing more every day! My hope for 2014 is that we get to 12,000 members and I want to finish getting my non-profit up and going! I am excited for what’s in store with the IBD community this year and to see where we will be this time next year! I have big plans this year for our community and cannot wait for you all to be apart of what is coming!
Thank you all for being apart of this incredible year, without you this website would be nothing. Heres to a cure in 2014! Be safe and Happy New Year!
